Jakarta ââ¬â Twelve Companies who are keen on the CAC program have joined the workshop conducted by IICD entitled "Collective Action Coalition Against Corruption in Indonesian Private Sector: Issues and Challenges" 0n 25th June 2019. The workshop discussed the initial CAC principle documents that contain topics regarding; Principles on companiesââ¬â¢ internal controls, Principles on companiesââ¬â¢ efforts to address national anti-corruption concerns, and Principles on companiesââ¬â¢ efforts to address corruption in the private sector.
Mr. Phisanu Phromchanya, the Communication Consultant of CAC Thailand, shared the experience of CAC Thailand to implement and grow the program. One key of his presentation is that to ensure the quality of the coalition, CAC Thailand gives the companies that already signed the Declaration of Intent a timeframe limit to implement the checklist. The checklist has consisted of companiesââ¬â¢ anti-corruption policies.
Most of the companies that are participating in the workshop are eager to join the coalition. It was realized that this kind of program should be addressed by the top-down mechanism. The essential instrument is the owner/CEO/Director's commitment to implementing these anti-corruption compliances within their company management.
All participants positively welcomed the intention of this coalition and suggested that several items in the draft 71 list adopted from the Thai IOD, be adjusted to the KPK's Profit program, and ensure the sustainability of the program in Indonesia. (25/06/2019)
